Not sure what is more infuriating, a politician not knowing anything about the firearms they are trying to ban or how they totally twist things to advance their agenda!? Either way Democrat Rep Sheila Jackson Lee is an expert on being uninformed on most issues, especially when it comes to the Second Amendment, and politicizing anything to advance the progressive agenda.
#1 Background checks are conducted by licensed FFL dealers, whether it’s at a gun show or store. If you don’t believe it, go to a store or show and try to buy a gun without providing your information for a background check and see what happens!
#2 These “watchlists” are gravely flawed. Anyone can be put on them, without warning, stripped of their Second Amendment rights without due process. It took fmr Sen Ted Kennedy 6 months to be removed from a watchlist, how long do you think it would take the avg citizen?!
#3 Fully automatic AK-47’s and others are just not for sale to the general public. They cost much more, in the thoudsands, require additional licensing, tax stamp and a background check by the ATF.
The solution to gun violence is not to ban the machines used in acts of violence as they are just extensions of the individual using them. Democrats can ban all the guns tomorrow, gun violence will morph into knife, blunt object etc violence. Democrats refuse to address why people are resorting to violence, ie broken homes, loss of morals & ethics, poor education, unemployment and all the social problems plaguing our nation. Politicians blaming guns are just passing the buck on how they have failed to address real problems.
