Thank you for your interest in ATF’s proposed framework for determining whether certain projectiles are “primarily intended for sporting purposes” within the meaning of 18 U.S.C. 921(a)(17)(C). The informal comment period will close on Monday, March 16, 2015. ATF has already received more than 80,000 comments, which will be made publicly available as soon as practicable.
Although ATF endeavored to create a proposal that reflected a good faith interpretation of the law and balanced the interests of law enforcement, industry, and sportsmen, the vast majority of the comments received to date are critical of the framework, and include issues that deserve further study. Accordingly, ATF will not at this time seek to issue a final framework. After the close of the comment period, ATF will process the comments received, further evaluate the issues raised therein, and provide additional open and transparent process (for example, through additional proposals and opportunities for comment) before proceeding with any framework.”
While this is a small victory for pro-Second Amendment crowd, it’s no guarantee they or should I say Obama won’t try again!
That said Let’s address the letter sent by the Senate… why are there only 52 Senators signing this letter? Granted there are 44 democrats and two independents but surely there is one or two dems (Tester & Manchin) who claimed to be pro-Second Amendment who should have signed this letter?
Americans should take note that democrats have drawn a clear line in the sand time after time they are against the Second Amendment. While it isn’t surprising it should put up a warning flag and leave people wondering what other rights do they oppose but remain silent on? The democrat party of the past is gone, today’s dems are made of people who are more or less socialist if not communist (those who identify as progressive). They want gov’t in control of every part of our life while actively working to disarm the people. History has demonstrated this never ends well…
How can people swear an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution but then make it their lives work to undermine and destroy it? Americans need to stand up and send a clear message to Washington as well as unelected regulators they are crossing a line.

A majority in both the Senate and House — 52 senators, 238 House members — have joined to oppose the Obama administration’s move to ban a popular type of ammo used in the top-selling AR-15 rifle and pistol because it pierces police body armor.
A week after the House members, led by Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte, sent a letter of opposition to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley echoed that in his own letter signed by 51 others. read more
