Both of These Men Are Proof Criminals Don’t Follow the Law

Two names in the news have something in common. Arcan Cetin, Cascade Mall shooter, and Keith Lamont Scott, shot by Charlotte Police, were both prohibited possessors of firearms:

Cetin“Skagit County court records show Cetin has a criminal record that included three domestic-violence assault charges in both Burlington and Island County, with the victim identified as Cetin’s stepfather. He also was arrested for drunken driving.

Island County District Court records show that Cetin was told by a judge on Dec. 29 that he was not to possess a firearm.” Seattle Times

Scott“According to records from Bexar County, Texas, Keith Lamont Scott was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in July 2005 and sentenced to seven years in prison. In relation to that case, he was charged and found guilty of evading arrest. He was also charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon, reckless driving, and assaulting his wife, but these charges were later dismissed….

… Scott’s criminal record is significant in light of police reports that he was carrying a gun at the time of his fatal encounter with a police officer this week. Under federal law (18 U.S.C 922(g)(1-9)), it is illegal for anyone who has been “convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year” to possess a firearm.” The Federalist

Both of these men prove once again criminals do not follow the law.

Cetin and Scott are just a small sample of perpetrators prohibited from possessing a firearm ignored the laws on the books in which democrats are demanding to add additional legislation “for our safety”, “if it could save just one more life”.

When will the anti-gun lobby learn criminals (and terrorists for that matter) do not follow the law? How many innocent people must die because lawmakers have disarmed law-abiding Americans? When will Americans stop patronizing businesses with “firearms not permitted” signs in the window or are in designated Gun Free Zones to send the message they want the right to protect themselves? If you are business with this policy, that’s fine and your right as a business owner, you should provide armed security to give people a fighting chance at life in this world we live in. Maybe it’s time for the pro-gun lobby to push legislation to make this requirement?! If you want to disarm the public VIOLATING their Second Amendment right then businesses, entities, institutions etc must provide on-site armed security 24/7!

We the People need to stand up to our lawmakers but also send a clear message to those businesses and institutions who have an anti-gun policy.

It is our God-given, Natural right to protect ourselves. NO ONE has the right to take that away!
