This should be the real headline following the mass shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, OR.
I find it puzzling how democrats, liberals, progressives and of course Barack Obama are complaining about current state of our gun control laws. Why? Let’s be honest the gun control crowd is winning and has been winning this battle for years, even decades. Whatever they want they have practically gotten. Sure many gun control bills have failed in the last few years but look at how many have been passed, restricting ones personal right to self-protection! Laws have been passed in many states that have literally run firearm businesses out-of-state, or made law-abiding Americans criminals with the stroke of the pen!
The gun control crowd has gotten their way as it is with waiting periods, background checks. Open carry has been banned in many states, they have established stringent criteria and requirements for one to acquire a concealed carry permit, which makes acquiring a permit almost impossible in some states. Then there are the ammo and magazine size restrictions and last but definitely not least the creation of Gun Free Zones. Almost every single mass shooting including today’s has taken place in a Gun Free Zone.
Gun Free Zones are nothing but FREE KILLING ZONES! There are thousands of laws on the books against guns, and gun ownership, we don’t need anymore Mr. President. The only people affected by new laws are law-abiding Americans. Criminals by their very nature do not follow the law, so passing more gun control laws is futile. You might as well command Congress to pass a law that everyone has to follow all the laws!
Pres Obama wants to politicize this mass shooting because he and gun control advocates calls for more laws really means the complete and total disarmament of the American people!
It’s time people accept evil will always find a way to kill. If they don’t have access to a gun they’ll use a knife, a car, or make a bomb that will definitely result in more deaths. We should be doing everything we can to protect people not disarm them. Gun Free Zones epitomize the failure of the gun control lobby. And be warned fellow Patriots, Pres Obama and his cronies are in fact using tragedies in their Gun Free Zones as a vehicle to take more of our rights away!
*Note the number of dead has been fluctuating with many outlets initially reporting 13 lives lost. Late in the day Sheriff John Hanlin reported there were:
– 10 fatalities confirmed
– 7 additional injuries
Some agencies have now adjusted stating 9 killed, 7 injured…
