Judge Andrew Napolitano appeared on Fox Business’ Risk & Rewards to explain and warn of the consequences if people’s free speech rights continue to be trampled on. In the short-term those stopped from speaking on college campuses, like Ann Coulter, have a strong case for a lawsuit. In the long-term if the bullying and assault by leftists, against people with opposing views, isn’t stopped as the Judge says, “we’re in danger of losing free speech.”
But what are we to do when the violation of our rights is more or less sanctioned by school admin and local government?!
“Berkeley is unwilling to protect the free speech of those whose ideas it hates!”
A lawsuit isn’t going to solve the problem when the violation happens. Lawsuits are a remedy after the fact, and being in California one shouldn’t have high hopes of winning in court. That means your case goes through the entire appeals system, where if you’re lucky you will be in front of the Supreme Court. That’s no guarantee either!
To make matters worse these violations against people on the right only fuels the left. They will get more emboldened, defiant and violent because they know it works.
Where is the ACLU? Or do they only get involved when democrats and liberals rights are violated?
Even though we have a republican President and majority in Congress, the Constitution remains under attack by the left.
