Actor Adam Baldwin Ditches Twitter ‘in Protest of Actual Censorship’ of Conservative Speech

The censoring of conservative speech on Twitter is taking its toll with many. If one is not in lockstep with the progressive agenda and posts truths on social media platforms, like Twitter, that are in opposition to liberal thought they risk their posts being deleted, visibility to followers reduced or an outright account suspension.

Following the suspension of many outspoken conservative journalists and bloggers most recently Milo Yiannopoulos (suspended then restored but lost verification) and now Robert Stacy McCain, actor Adam Baldwin (Last Ship, Firefly, X-Files, Independence Day, etc) has called it quits!

All his tweets were removed Feb 22nd but one that sums up how he feels about what is going…

Baldwin then went silent but told IJReview ‘Twitter is dead to me.’ This apparently wasn’t his final word on the matter as he took to Twitter one last time Feb 23rd to post the following message (AAP has compiled in one read from his feed) because the media continues to get the story wrong (which he indicates ie Reuters):

“#ForPurposesOfFairness and closure, while reserving the right to revise and extend… please see my following series of tweets…

“American people don’t care about statements that people make that may not be totally accurate.” – Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), 6/9/05
“It doesn’t matter what anybody’s said in the past.” – Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), 2/22/16

My reasons for leaving Twitter should be apparent. But it seems some media – e.g., Reuters – feel compelled to provide a false narrative. So, as is too often the case when someone is subject to a drive-by media narrative, I am forced to set the record straight. I did not “say” I was ditching Twitter to protest “alleged censorship.” I am actually ditching Twitter in protest of actual censorship. This isn’t a “claim.” I have always been more than happy to deal with opinions opposed to mine. I wish the same could be said of Twitter’s Orwellian “Trust & Safety” star chamber.

As for “alleged censorship” there is nothing “alleged” about it. No, it isn’t government censorship, but it is real. Just ask @rsmccain. It might be excusable if not for Twitter’s dishonest posturing as a platform for free expression. That might have been true at one point, but does anybody remember? For rank dishonesty, Twitter is only matched by the media organs that are reporting my “reaction.” And I’m saying this as someone who lives in Hollywood, for God’s sake… #SWIDT?

In short, I will no longer voluntarily participate in a social media platform that fancies itself some sort of global online Oberlin campus.

Any honest reporter who wants to ask honest questions about this, you can find me.

As for Twitter –

bye bye birdie

So there you have it folks. Twitter who has empowered liberals to decide what is and isn’t appropriate content has indirectly claimed another voice. Meanwhile, Twitter continues to allow individuals to post everything from porn to content from those connected to ISIS who post their radical material calling for the death of all of us!

To those conservatives out there with deep pockets who see what is going on, maybe it’s time to open up the checkbook and create some competition for Twitter and Facebook? Pats on the back to “keep it up” and well wishes aren’t really helping when opposing speech is being silenced!
