We the People have a legit reason to be concerned with all this military training in our towns and cities, not to mention the militarization of the police with some calling for them to be federalized! Pundits tell us we have nothing to worry about, that this Jade Helm is just a training exercise. That isn’t really reassuring when we know our economy is not right, race relations are at their worse in 40 years and we have leadership that is lawless as Ret Gen Jerry Boykin points out. Many will agree with the General that if Pres Obama wasn’t in the White House using the IRS, DOJ, NSA and other agencies against Americans, people wouldn’t be so on edge with the possibility of martial law.
Here is the other problem, most of the theaters of operations our military has been engaged is in the open, mountainous and in small cities (some of the worst battles during the Iraq war was in Fallujah). But also consider that this administration has set a new precedent of using drone warfare along with conventional air strikes to deal with our enemies anywhere in the world vs putting boots on the ground. What threat is on the horizon that our troops have to train in full blown urban environments now? And for the record this uptick in urban training, that Boykin expresses some concern about, has been going on for the last few years; frankly, since the 2008 economic collapse!
I’m not a conspiracist, I get it, I understand the military has to train for all types of environments but something just doesn’t seem right.
