With the Pres announcing Judge Merrick Garland as his nominee to replace Justice Scalia, I’m not going to sugarcoat this one bit…
This recording from 2001 is a clear reminder that Pres Obama has absolute contempt for the US Constitution. He perceives it as a ‘charter of negative liberties’, restricting what the government can’t do to you, as he argued for redistribution of wealth. Pres Obama has spent the last 7+ years usurping the Constitution and rule of law, bypassing Congress at every opportunity while stacking the courts with radical judicial activists to ensure his “legacy”.
The US Senate is obligated to hold hearings but there is nothing in the Constitution ordering them to confirm whomever the Pres nominates. The next President should determine Scalia’s replacement, God willing it will be a conservative. I’m sure Judge Garland is a good man but he is a liberal judge already on record with an anti-2A position. We need someone as close to Scalia who is an Originalist, making decisions based on the Founding Fathers intent. We cannot afford to have another liberal justice appointed who will rule for the next 20-30 years.
And America, this is one more reason why we need term limits not only for Congress but also the Supreme Court!
