Confederate statues and monuments are being removed across the country in a panic over cries of racism. As Judge Napolitano points out most historic buildings and sites were built by or had slaves working in them. Where does this call to take said historic sites down end?
Pres Trump pointed out, during his press conference this week at Trump Tower, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were slave holders, asking if their statues will be next! And he was right, because less than 24 hours later, a pastor in Chicago, IL is calling on Mayor Emanuel to remove a statue of George Washington as well as removing his name and Pres Jackson’s name from parks!
Where does this end, because as Napolitano pointed out the White House to the Egyptian Pyramids were built by slaves? Granted the outrage in the US doesn’t apply to Egypt but how long until people are calling for the destruction of the White House! This is a dangerous slippery slope we are on that will in fact erase American history. We need to know about the good and bad of our past to learn from and not make the same mistakes.
We’ve come a long way from slavery to electing a black man to the Presidency, twice! Wouldn’t erasing that history diminish what he and many others accomplished!
